On a day where the Broncos showed both sides of a team still trying to find it’s identity, they played mistake free down the stretch and secured a 27-24 win against a very tough Seahawks team, and start the year 1-0. Early penalties and three Case Keenum interceptions proved almost too difficult to overcome as Denver got caught in a seesaw battle that saw the lead change six different times. Terrible tackling and early penalties almost doomed this team from the start, but Denver showed a toughness they lacked last year, settled down late, and held on to a late lead with some spectacular defense. Von Miller was an unstoppable force with seven tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. The two new rookie running backs, Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay, combined for 30 carries and 142 rushing yards, including a clock-eating performance at the end of the game that all but secured the lead and the game. Up next, the hated Oakland Raiders.
